STUDIO OPEN FOR EASTSIDE CULTURE CRAWL
I’m very excited to be opening up the studio this year for the Crawl! It feels great to be participating in what I think is one of the best visual art events in the city. Over the course of four days you can see a heck of a lot of art (more than 400 artists to choose from) and hopefully have some interesting conversations with those strange creatures known as artists. I’ll be showing a few new paintings and some small 5 x 5 pieces around the theme of women who power. These are portraits of women who’s power plays out in a dynamic and verb-like way, unlike the way we typically think of power as a thing to have or wield over others.
Also, I’ll be doing my Wall of Crawl project again. If you came by my studio a few years ago, you might have had your portrait drawn on a post it note. I drew a whole lot of people over the four days, (almost 100) and I’m hoping to do even more this year. The event is listed on the Crawl website, you can check it out here: https://culturecrawl.ca/wallofcrawl I’ll also be photographing them and putting them on my instagram page. Here’s a link if you want to see a few examples of the ones I did at the last event.
